Valec will resume in the coming days the North-South works in the stretch that includes Tunnel 2 and Multimodal Yard of Anápolis. The work order for the execution of the closing work of the stretch was signed this week. The stretch has 90% of the physical structure built, leaving only additional works to come into operation.
On this Thursday, the transport minister César Borges and the CEO of Valec Josias Sampaio Cavalcante Júnior visited the stretch, which already has mostly ties and rails installed. The remaining services will be conducted by the Pelicano/Engesolo consortium, hired through Differentiated Regime for Public Contracting (Regime Diferenciado de Contratação – RDC) at a cost of $37.79 million. Information regarding the RDC-001/13 is available on the Web site of Valec.
The other stretches of the North-South Railroad between Palmas (state of Tocantins) and Anapolis (state of Goiás) are also being finalized. Works between Palmas (state of Tocantins) and Uruaçu (state of Goiás) have been resumed, and between Uruaçu (state of Goiás) and Tunnel 2 are in the final stage of bidding.
