On last April 17th, arrived in the port of Santos a new bath with three trains of the Line 4 from the Sao Paulo’s Metro. The trains, which have six cars each, came aboard of the SCL Ben ship, which left the port of Masan, in South Korea, on March 3.
According to ViaQuatro, the company which administrates Line 4, 18 cars were unloaded on the end of the weekend and transported for the maritime terminal of Deicmar, on Saboó. Now, the five remaining trains are being landed on Monday (19), at 27’s deposit.
Another two baths, with the same quantity of trains, are expected to arrive until the beginning of July. At whole, with this new bath, there were unloaded eight trains in the port since January.

The first one left the port of Masan on October 28, in 2009, and reached Deicmar on the first day of 2010. The shipment came aboard of a Thor Spirit ship. The second one, which left South Korea in December 5, was transported by a S. Partner and reached the port of Santos by mid January.
On December 27, another two trains arrived at the Santos pier. The compositions came on a S. Fighter ship. The fifth one arrived in Brazil on February 3th. The train left Korea, on December 27, aboard of a Scan Atlantic.
After arriving in Brazil, the trains are driven in trucks to the capital. In Sao Paulo, the units stay in the Villa Sonia yard, where are made testing, washing and placing adhesives. These EMUs were built in Korea by a consortium formed by Siemens and Hyundai Rotem. At total, the first phase of the project will have 14 metro trains (84 cars).
With the expansion of the line, Sao Paulo will have 74 kilometers of railways. With 12.8 kilometers of extension, Line 4 will connect Luz station, in the center of Sao Paulo, to Vila Sonia (downtown).
