The Presidential Decree published in the Official Federal Government Gazette (Diário Oficial da União – DOU) last Thursday (26 August) opened the fiscal budget of the Brazilian Federation in favor of the Ministry of Transport and National Integration, with a supplementary credit totaling R$ 717.709 million.
The investments to receive most funds, as listed in the decree, include the construction of the North-South Railroad, the construction of the section of railway between Manaus and the border between the States of Amazonas and Rondônia, and the maintenance of several other railway sections.
The North-South Railroad shall receive R$ 155 million. The section between Palmas (Tocantins) and Uruaçu (Goiás) is to get R$ 117.4 million, the section between Aguiarnópolis and Palmas, in Tocantins, shall receive R$ 2.6 million, while the section between Anápolis (Goiás) and Uruaçu shall obtain R$ 35 million.
