The Public Company of Metropolitan Train of Belo Horizonte (Metrominas) published on this Thursday (September 13) the notice to bid of the basic project of engineering for lines 1, 2 and 3 of the metro. The cost is forecast at about $9.14 million for the expansion of lines 1 and 2 and $7.21 million for works of line 3. Metrominas explained that the project is important to establish the costs that will enable the preparation of the notice to bid for the works.
According to the company, the reform and improvement of stations, purchase of new trains and improvement of electrical and communication systems are planned for line 1. The expansion to the station of Novo Eldorado, in the city of Contagem, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, is also among the proposals. Line 2, which is expected to have a length of 10.5 km, will connect the region of Barreiro to the Calafate district, in the Western Region of the capital, through seven stations. The third line, completely underground and 4.5 km long, will connect the Savassi, in the Center-South region of Belo Horizonte, to Lagoinha district, in the Western Region of the city, with five stations planned.
The submission of proposals is scheduled for October 30, when the bid will occur. According to Metrominas after the service order, the work will be done in 12 months.
