It is planned for January 18 the launch of the notice to bid for the Light Rail Vehicle work, the LRV Anhanguera. According to the secretary of Development of the Metropolitan Region of Goiânia, Sílvio Sousa, the basic project is ready and contains 350 pages with all the details of the construction of new public transport of Goiânia, which has capacity three times greater than the currently supported by the Anhanguera Axis.
Sílvio said that the notice to bid was completed on December 24. On December 27, the department filed the document in the State Court of Audit (TCE) and in the State Office of the Comptroller General (CGE), following the legal procedures provided for in Resolution No. 11079. There, it is expected that all bidding, before being released, should be filed in the CGE. After the publication of the notice to bid, the company that offers the smallest consideration to the State and delivers the better service to the population wins the process.
Also according to the secretary, the State has fulfilled all the steps that were up to it. “We have already completed the legal steps. The State so far has fulfilled its role. Now, for the release of the notice to bid, we are waiting for the opinion of TCE and CGE, in addition to the call of the Deliberative Board of Public Transport (CDTC),” he said. The LRV implementation will rely on advice from specialized companies from France, England and Germany, all of them reference in their fields.
Project
The Goiânia’s LRV will be 13.6 km long, will have 12 stations (against 17 existing today), five integration terminals with other tracks and bus lines and will include 30 passenger trains, each with two coaches attached.
The project also provides access ramps with up to 7% slope, facilitating access for those with reduced mobility. The trains will have speed of 23.5 km/hour, reducing the headway to three minutes between trips, and will have a maximum of six passengers per square meter.
Today, the Axis has 53 crossings. In the future, they will be only 35. This is because, according to the secretary Sílvio Sousa, excess of crossings hinders the traffic flow. They will be 259 tracks, 91% of which integrated, and a total of 20 million passengers. “One of the factors intrinsic to the project is to preserve the current power, concession model, fare and integration. Today, the integration model of the Metropolitan Region of Goiânia is one of the most copied and efficient in the country,” Sílvio Sousa said.
The new model will increase the commercial speed to 23.5 km/h; expand the capacity of each consist from 200 to 600 passengers; reduce the crossings on the route from 53 to 35 and the operational headway, which is the waiting time of the vehicle, to three minutes.
The project also includes the reform of the Civic Square. That part was delivered to the Goiás Agency of Transport and Works (Agetop) for the work budget is done. The main change in this area is about landscaping, such as improved lighting, exchange of the floor (antiskid will be placed); area with space for living and leisure in place of parking lots; construction of kiosks and a cycling track, continuing the bicycle path of the Avenida Universitária.
Budget
Regarding the budget for the work, the secretary said that the implementation is budgeted at $637.1 million and will be funded by public federal resources from the Mobility PAC (the Brazilian Growth Acceleration Program) and public state resources, through Public Private Partnerships (PPPs). He explained that the private sector will have a 35-year concession and that there will be no fare increase, which will be the same as for buses in the Capital.
