The Government of Peru will invest $459 million in construction, currently underway, of the second stretch of the Line 1 of Lima Metro, according official sources reported on this Sunday (January 20).
Sources from the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) told Andina agency that works comprise 6.1 kilometers of track between Grau Avenue, in downtown Lima, and the district of San Juan de Lurigancho, as well as additional works of the first stretch, currently in operation, between the southern district of Villa El Salvador and Grau Avenue.
This amount is part of a total investment of $2.053 billion that MTC will allocate this year for road infrastructure works nationwide.
Official sources indicated that the MTC will continue providing financial and technical support to regional and local governments for the development of road projects.
