The CEO of Empresa de Planejamento e Logística (EPL) Bernardo Figueiredo said on this Wednesday, October 30, that Brazil does not have entrepreneurs enough to handle the amount of investment in logistics that the country demands.
We are trying to raise $17.83 billion a year on infrastructure investments in logistics, but we realize that we do not have enough investors. We do make attractive designs, but we do not have entrepreneurs capable of embracing all that. We stayed a long time without investing and do not create that entrepreneurial capacity, he claimed during videoconferencing Rumos da Indústria held by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI).
Bernardo Figueiredo stressed that Brazil remains attractive to investors and argued that the projects presented by the government do have attractiveness. Our bottlenecks represent investment opportunities. No other country will have this growth capacity if the logistics problems are solved. The issue we face is that we have to expand the level of logistics investments from $6.68 billion per year to $44.59 billion, he added.
