MRS announced today (Thursday September 1st) a new transportation record of 9,5 million of tons in August. The company’s main flows were iron ore and pig iron for export, besides containers and soybeans. In the containers, MRS reached the second consecutive record with 11.467 TEU´s transported in the period. The result was reinforced by the express trains, which presented high operational efficiency. “We seek to increase the demand of the already existing flows with complex logistic projects”, says Daniel Salcedo, from the containers management area.
In the agricultural businesses sector, the company transported 80 thousand tons of soybean for export through the porto of Santos. The record overcame the July figure, when grains registered 65 thousand tons. According to Ana Paula Aloe, from the agricultural businesses management area, `we are integrating more our teams. Thus, we reached a cycle of 5.2 days that, at the beginning of the operations, was of 10 days`.
The sand transportation registered consecutive records, with 75.440 tons in July and 90 thousand tons in August. Regarding the pig iron export, MRS transported 91 thousand tons from the Sete Lagoas region (MG) to the port of Rio de Janeiro. The coordinator of the Project, Rosana Miliorini, says that MRS’s team had total focus and managed to deliver the freight in the terms specified for the ships departure.
The iron ore flow registered in August the mark of 5,38 million tons. A result 5,5% above the last best mark, 5,1 million in May of this year. “The availabilities of the new locomotives and cars, the higher demand and the good results in the interfaces between MRS’s teams and our clients` helped to reach this expressive mark”, tells Douglas Rettore, Mining manager.
