América Latina Logística (ALL) is investing US$ 601 thousand in improvements to the infrastructure of its shunting yard located in Araraquara. 2.6 thousand meters of rails and two thousand sleepers are being placed. The forecast is that the works would be completed by February and the purpose is to expand the capacity for receiving new compositions.
According to information from the press office of ALL, the improvements will provide more dynamism to the shunting yard, for easier maintenance and formation of compositions that follow towards the Port of Santos or the High-Araguaia River. In 2010, the Araraquara yard has received 18 trains a day. This year, it shall receive, on average, 20 trains a day.
ALL reminds that even with the construction of the new railroad contour – scheduled for delivery in December – the company needs to invest in the railway network to meet market demand. ALL needs to invest in adjustments and continue the daily maintenance of the rails that cross Araraquara, to prevent accidents and maintain the quality of services, explained the press-release.
