The City Hall of Rio de Janeiro opened on this Monday a deadline for public consultation of the notice to bid for implantation of the Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) system of the port area and center area. The information was published in the Official Gazette of the City.
Those interested in participating in the competition of public-private partnership (PPP) will have until August 9 to make criticism and questioning. The federal government announced in March that it will invest $246.37 million in the project through the Brazilian Growth Acceleration Program (PAC – Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento). The bid aims to form a sponsored PPP.
In this model, the federal funds come as part of the financing. The remainder will be paid for public consideration within a period determined by contract. The notice to bid must be published seven days after the consultation.
