The study on the possibility of the aeromovel from the South Zone of Porto Alegre to the City Hall was delivered on the morning of this Tuesday (May 21th). The idea provides track route that will connect the center of the city to the Italy Square, in front of the Marinha Park, and in the second stage it is planned to extend the route to the Cristal terminal, on Diário de Notícias Avenue. The third and final phase will go to Juca Batista Terminal, at the entrance to the Restinga district.
Reports with data on the three project stages, such as route and estimated number of passengers, were delivered by the CEO of Trensurb, Humberto Kasper, to the mayor José Fortunati. In the study, it was also provided the possibility of integration with other transport systems of Porto Alegre and with those that will be deployed (BRT and metro), as well as with the South Zone Catamaran.
The mayor delivered the material to the CEO of Public Company of Transportation and Circulation (Empresa Pública de Transporte e Circulação – EPTC), Vanderlei Cappellari. “EPTC will formally assess the impact and possibilities of implementation of this project. Once this analysis is ready we will meet again with Trensurb in order to define the next steps,” said Fortunati.
