President Dilma Rousseff detailed in the column Conversation with the President on this Tuesday (August 6) the railroad works, which reach a length of 2,576 km and $3.65 billion in investments in the Brazilian Growth Acceleration Program (PAC – Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento) 1 and 2.
Rousseff said another jump will be given to the Investment Program in Logistics – Railroads, which will invest $40.04 billion in partnership with the private sector.
The railroads are essential to the growth of the Brazilian economy, as our crops, our minerals, our production and inputs must travel long distances, often inappropriate to the use of trucks, and they need to reach markets with competitive costs and in a timely manner”, Dilma said, recalling that the program provides for the construction and modernization of 10,000 km of railroads.
