South Korea inaugurates monorail

Daegu city gained a new monorail system. The constructions began in July 2009, and after six years a new 24km line was inaugurated with 30 stations and a fleet of 28 trains.

The manufacturing of compositions was the responsibility of the Japanese company Hitachi and by the Korean company Woojin. The monorail is part of the city’s subway system, denominated “Line 3”. The prediction is that 160 thousand passengers use the station every day, with a 5-minute pause between trains during rush hour.
