The National Agency for Land Transportation (ANTT) said on Tuesday (7) that it has reopened the deadline for requesting clarification about the high-speed train project that will connect the cities of Rio, São Paulo and Campinas. Applications may be submitted until 6 pm of the day March 10, 2011.
The decision came after the government decided to postpone the auction, initially planned to take place this month. The new date for submission of proposals is April 11, 2011 and the auction will be held on April 29.
In the first period, between July 14 and November 16, 100 manifestations were filed with ANTT with several questions about the bidding and contract documents.
The “bullet train”, also called the High Speed Train (HST) has a 510.8 km route extension. The maximum fare established in the bidding documents, is R$ 0.49 per kilometer, in the economic class, in services with or without stops between the cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. The reference studies indicate a total project costs of R$ 33.1 billion.
