The first coaches of the passenger train that will make the connection between Crato and Juazeiro do Norte (CE) are almost ready. Workers of the Bom Sinal manufacturing company are setting up the external parts of the coaches. Two of them will be given to the government of Ceará this year. The city of Barbalha will be integrated, later, to the project.
The trains will be Light Rail Vehicle (LRV), in yellow and silve collors, with capacity to transport up to 330 passengers each . The trains will have diesel hydraulics traction and will be formed by two acclimatized coaches. The operational maximum speed will be 60km/h.
The implantation of the train requires the refurbishment of 13km of existing track. The works were started on the approach of Crato, in order to replace the rails. Crato´s mayor, Samuel Araripe, who accompanied the governor Cid Gomes in the construction site, informed that the government team is excited with the implantation project of the urban trains of Cariri. The mayor confirmed, not only the governor´s great interest, as well as the urgency character requested in the of the execution.

The rail connection between Crato and Juazeiro do Norte stations will have, besides the two terminal stations, two other intermediate stations, in Tube style, just like the bus stops in Curitiba, capital of Paraná. The system will count with a maintenance workshop and a Train Administration and Control Center.
