MRS Logística, the concessionaire that controls, operates and monitors the Southeast section of the federal rail network, has confirmed that they have exercised the option to purchase 344 cars from AmstedMaxion. The deliveries are programmed to take place over a period between September and December 2010, so informs Iochpe-Maxion S.A (one of the parent companies of AmstedMaxion), in a communication made to BM&F Bovespa.
With these new orders, the total orders of freight cars from AmstedMaxion has risen to the current level of 4,202 cars, of which 2,144 are for delivery in 2010 (of which 325 have already been delivered, in the first quarter of this year). This portfolio represents a gross income of some 455 million Brazilian Reais (€ 201.50 million). For delivery in 2011, there are a further 2,058 cars, bringing a further 398 million Brazilian Reais (€ 176.26 million). Iochpe-Maxion has not informed the sale value for the 344 cars, just the total for the year.
Apart from these orders, there are options for the purchase of 3,126 cars, of which 1,144 are for delivery in 2011 and the other 1,982 for delivery in 2012.
