The National Land Transport Agency (ANTT – Agência Nacional de Transportes Terrestres) has selected six consortia that will submit proposals to conduct technical, economic and environmental feasibility studies to allow the bidding for the construction of the average-speed passenger and freight train between Brasília and Goiânia.
The selected consortia are led by Brazilian, Spanish, French and Portuguese companies and must submit their technical and financial proposals for the study until March. Only one proposal will be selected by the agency. According to ANTT, the bidding should occur in a little over a year.
The initiative is part of an agreement signed by ANTT and the World Bank valued at $2.68 million, which will fund the studies for the implementation of the average-speed passenger and freight train in the corridor Brasília-Anápolis-Goiânia.
