Since 2011, the Government of the State of São Paulo has been making the largest investment in public transport in Latin America, enabling 1.5 million citizens swap cars for subway and buses or trains.
Currently four subway lines are under construction simultaneously. In addition, the works of Orange line, which will connect the Brasilândia neighborhood in the north region of the capital, to downtown and to the Line 2 – Green (which currently runs between Vila Madalena and Vila Prudente) extension to Dutra , on the border with the city of Guarulhos.
The expansion of the Green Line of the subway will connect the Guarulhos Airport to railroads, standing out as an unprecedented initiative in Brazil. Furthermore, the monorail line 17, which will reach the Congonhas Airport and the construction of CPTM line 13, which reach the Cumbica Airport, will confer greater mobility to the daily lives of people who live or work in São Paulo.
