The second of 22 Light Rail Vehicles (LRV) that will operate between Barreiros, in São Vicente and the Port of Santos, disembarked from ship Great America on the morning of Tuesday (12/30). The removal of the LRV from the ship began this afternoon with the help of the equipment known as maffis trailer, a platform that allows transposition to trailers. The vehicle will be in Deicmar Terminal until the January 5th when it will be transported at dawn (from the 5th to the 6th) in three trailers to José Monteiro Station in São Vicente. There, the initial tests will be performed.
For transport from Vossloh factory in Valencia, Spain, to Brazil, the seven LRV modules were split into three parts. Vehicle features: 2.65m [8ft 8in] wide by 44m [144ft 4in] long; capacity for 400 users; average speed of 25km/h [15mph] (maximum 80 km/h [50mph]); air conditioning and floor 100% low, allowing easier movement of users with limited mobility.
