Executives from the Chinese group Pangang, owner of one of the largest mining houses and steel mills in the world, are visiting Brazil. Pangang, located in Sichuan province, is one of the few producers of rails for trains in the world. During a meeting with businessmen and politicians, the representatives of Pangang said that China should consume 90% of the company’s annual production of 1.5 million tons of rails.
From the 150,000 tons reserved for export, the Chinese assured priority to Brazil, which can get 100,000 tons . Representatives of Pangang, however, warned the businessmen and politicians that delays in projects, bureaucratic or payment problems could because Brazil loses the preference. A company executive who attended in the meeting revealed that the shortage of rails worries the industry.
