Amsted-Maxion announced on Monday the conclusion of negotiations for the sale of 2558 ore cars to Vale with delivery scheduled for 2010 and 2011. In these negotiations, Vale agreed with Amsted Maxion on an option to purchase an additional 1982 gondolas, scheduled for 2012. Amsted Maxion, a 50-50 association between the Brazilian Maxion and the US Amstead Industries, is the main car supplier in Brazil.
The request made by Vale has a delivery schedule of 500 cars in 2010 and the remainder in 2011.
Amsted Maxion also announced another recent deal for 135 cars to MRC Equipamentos Ferroviarios America Latina, the Mitsui leasing arm, scheduled for 2010.
With these new requests, Amsted Maxion reaches 3033 ordered cars and 975 cars for delivery in 2010, whose gross income is approximately US$ 107 million, and 2,058 cars to be delivered in 2011, with gross revenue around US$ 227 million.
