Juazeiro was visited yesterday (15) by controllers, directors and executives of six rail companies from Sao Paulo, which makes machines, equipments and rail components. These companies are interested in making a reality a bold idea combined with Ceara’s government Cid Gomes, the Ceara’s Economic Development Council CEO, Ivan Bezerra, and the business man from Sao Paulo, Fernando Marinho, controller of Bom Sinal – a company that manufactures in Barbalha the Light Rail Vehicles (LRV).
The idea is to deploy, in Juazeiro, the so called Northeast Railway Polo. Headed by Eduardo Neves, infrastructure CEO from Adece, and Fernando Marinho himself, the group that has visited Juazeiro was formed by Ralph Dreckmann, from Voith; Talles Cristian, from Knorr Bremse; Priscila Nishitani, from Euroar; Dirceu Abreu, from Phoenix Contact; Joao Thomaz, from Hewitt Equipments; and Fausto Jose, from Metal Lince. They were at the 56 hectares land on which the Railway Polo will be built.
This polo will work as an automotive manufacturer: the Bom Sinal’s LRV factory will be the anchor, and others companies will be installed on the same complex, to supply on a “just in time” regime, all the equipments for the vehicles. Today, Bom Sinal is building 96 LRV, 32 of them for Maceio city, but its portfolio has already 160 vehicles to be made.
