Hélio Mauro França, director of EPL, informed that Empresa de Planejamento e Logística (EPL) wants to set later this month the route of the High Speed Rail (HSR), with the exact location of the stations. He noted that the company has been holding meetings with representatives of the states of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro and cities that should receive stations – Campinas, São Paulo, São José dos Campos, Barra Mansa, Volta Redonda and Rio de Janeiro. EPL also met with representatives of the airports of Viracopos (city of Campinas), Guarulhos (city of São Paulo) and Galeão (city of Rio de Janeiro), in order to talk about possible stations integrated into them.
According to França, these definitions are important to proceed to the processes of environmental and expropriation licensing. In addition to the integration with airports, EPL also analyzes connectivity with other transport systems in the cities, to facilitate the accessibility of the population and the property exploitation in the station and in the vicinity.
The station of the city of São Paulo is considered one of the most complexes. After studying and discarding the location of Estação da Luz and on Barra Funda, and having initially opted for installation in Campo de Marte, EPL has been analyzing the Água Branca station, where it would connect with the CPTM track and future regional passenger trains.
In addition, the station in Aparecida is being discussed again, after being removed from the project. The executive project will include Aparecida, França assured.
